The TrackOne product, the final evolution of the TRACK Log project (developed by NGS with support of CEA Leti), will enable the identification, characterisation, tracking, tracing, and monitoring of specific goods in the supply chain. Data corresponding to the worldwide standard for supply chains is shared in a trusted manner based on a distributed blockchain ledger.
Its main objectives achieved in the Track Log project are summarised in the following:
1. To identify goods exploiting a standardised approach, based on GS1 EPCIS 2.0 protocol.
2. To support the goods consolidation in the logistics units assembling process.
3. To enable a dedicated and goods-wise tracking, tracing, and monitoring solution with improved granularity.
4. To improve the security in the data collection chain, exploiting encrypted communications and secure by design hardware, as the CEA Leti IoT hardware platform.
5. To collect and store the data in a Cloud environment, visualising it in a portal where users can access in a secure and ad-hoc manner.
Such an approach, will enhance the concept of track and trace, enabling a solution thought to identify and monitor goods and not only containers or trucks, supporting a more secure logistics (especially for perishable goods), document dematerialisation and logistics optimisation (cost reduction, improvement of customer satisfaction, reduction of CO2 emission and of the environmental impact).
TRACK Log project has supported the development of the TrackOne product, that now is at the beta release and requires small improvement to arrive to the production level: we aim to finalise it at the end of Q3 2022. The socio-economic impact of TrackOne can be summarised as follows:
1. Supporting the realisation of more optimised, efficient, and secure supply chain (also in the first/last mile leg), thus reducing the environmental impact and the costs, as well as improving customers’ satisfaction.
2. Support the development Physical Internet also at improved granularity (e.g., at the level of the pallet).
This project has received funding from the European Union’s Horizon 2020 research and innovation programme under grant agreement No. 872088 (OC2).
